The Administration on Aging, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and the US Department of Health and Human Services join together to recognize the 30th anniversary of the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program. In addition, they announce the funding of ombudsman programs in six pilot states to work with the Quality Improvement Organizations for improved consumer education and quality initiatives in nursing homes.
